UDLA and OCULUS have been awarded the contract to provide landscape architectural input into the East Subi Master Plan, Western Australia’s largest urban renewal project.

The Subiaco East project area is located approximately 3.5 kilometres from the Perth CBD, between Subiaco, West Leederville and West Perth Activity Centres. Steeped in history, Subiaco Oval opened in the 1880s and by 1990 was the official Western Australian home of Australian Rules football.

After the completion of Optus Stadium, Perth’s brand-new stadium designed by HASSELL, Cox and HKS, Subiaco Oval was closed and is currently being demolished.

The vision for the East Subi precinct is “a connected city village honouring traditions and living memories; a place for whole of life city living, for all generations.”

The Princess Margaret Hospital site also forms part of the redevelopment project.

Landcorp and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) are leading the project, with Hames Sharley leading the architectural and urban design component.
