Copyright

Creative content is protected under copyright law. Copyright protects the form of expression of ideas, rather than the ideas, information or concepts expressed. The Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) (Copyright Act) regulates copyright in Australia, additionally copyright is addressed in several international treaties, including the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works 1886 and the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights 1994.

Moral Rights and Attribution

We assert our moral rights to be identified as the designer/creator/landscape architect of our work. OCULUS is to be credited accordingly for all cited, reproduced, published, exhibited, communicated, recorded, rendered, photographed, and adapted work in all forms, including electronic and print media, whether published or shared publicly or privately.

Artificial Intelligence

We are committed to transparency in our use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Where applicable, we will disclose when AI-generated content – such as images or text – has been used on this website.

Since 2023, our Australian studios (OCULUS Landscape Architecture, Urban Design Pty Ltd) have maintained an AI Policy. This policy governs the ethical and responsible use of generative AI, ensuring alignment with our values and legal obligations. OCULUS maintains a curated list of approved generative AI systems and their authorised uses, based ongoing evaluation of their compliance with our standards.

We recognise the risks associated with generative AI, including potential inaccuracies, bias, and lack of transparency. Our commitment is to use AI responsibly and ethically, respecting individual rights, promoting fairness, and avoiding harm. Any information we derive from AI tools is verified for accuracy, legality, and relevance to best practice in any relevant field. We do not rely on AI-generated content and always cross-check information.
