The Open House Melbourne Weekend celebrates the importance of good design in shaping communities and is the largest built environment festival in Australia. You’re invited to re/discover Melbourne on 27–28 July 2024, seeking out new places or reconnecting with old favourites.

On Saturday 27 July, OCULUS Associate Director Claire Martin will join Mathew van Kooy from Wardle to deliver a tour of Tanderrum Bridge for EmAGN: Public Places, alongside Muir and Openwork’s Family Violence Memorial. This is an educational opportunity for emerging architects, graduates, students, and of course, enthusiasts of architecture. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the intricacies within the design and building process.

At Wesley Place on Saturday 27 July, OCULUS Senior Associate Tim Mitchell will join COX Architecture to deliver a guided tour of key public domain, urban design, and commercial spaces of one of the largest urban renewal projects in Melbourne. The precinct’s heritage Wesley Church, built in 1858 and restored in 2018, will also be open.

Pick up a map for a self-guided tour of Secret Laneways Through the City, Play! in the City, or Stroll the City with an interactive audio map available to listen on demand.

Some bookings are required. Explore the full program on the Open House Melbourne website.
