TRX City Park in Kuala Lumpur, designed by OCULUS and Pentago, has received an Honour Award at the 2024 Malaysian Landscape Architecture Awards, presented by the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM).

The 10-acre rooftop park is at the heart of the newly planned TRX district. It is the first major public park delivered in Kuala Lumpur for over 20 years and the largest elevated public park in Southeast Asia. The rooftop park integrates seamlessly into the precinct’s lifestyle quarter. A green oasis at the heart of the city centre. With a distinctively Malaysian character and identity this ethno-botanical roof top park has a 2500 person capacity, and features 49 tree species, nearly 180,000 locally sourced plants.

Working across architecture and landscape architecture, OCULUS in collaboration with local landscape architects Pentago worked with GDP Architects and Grimshaw Architects, to design a highly connected public place, with a diversity of spaces to gather and play, linking retail experience with outdoor amenity.

The awards celebrate the best in landscape architecture, both in Malaysia and the work of ILAM members internationally, and were announced at a gala on 11 May 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.

A full list of winners can be found on the ILAM website.
