Landscape Architecture + Urban Design

Hayden Mattyhs

Landscape Architect

Master of Landscape Architecture (Distinction) RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia 2017

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Distinction) RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, 2015

Hayden is a Landscape Architect interested in site-specific responses that focus on the everyday relationships between humans and their surrounding environmental and social systems. This interest saw him work with post-disaster communities in north-east Japan in 2016 and subsequently write for Landscape Architecture Australia on the strained relationship Japanese fishing communities have with the sea and the country’s post-tsunami planning policies.

Hayden has experience working across a range of projects at all stages, utilising physical models and 3D computer visualisation to explore and test ideas throughout the design process.
